Gold Bead Implants

Gold bead implants are a permanent form of acupuncture with the aim of pain relief. The gold beads are implanted on the acupuncture points of the animal. Gold beads are very tiny, about the size of a pinhead. They are designed to provide a long-term stimulation of the acupuncture points.

Gold implants are used to treat e.g. chronic pain caused by conditions such as hip dysplasia, spondyloarthritis and arthrosis in the elbows.

Before any decision is made as to whether your dog is suited to gold bead implants, a thorough orthopaedic examination and gait analysis is performed. Trigger points are examined and x-rays taken.

Gold beads are implanted under general anaesthetic and fur must be clipped prior to the insertion. The insertion itself is minimally invasive and does not cause any additional pain for your animal.
